Hane goshi video
Info about "Hane goshi video"
Hane goshi (spring hip throw) is one of the original 40 throws of Judo as developed by Jigoro Kano. It belongs to the third group, Sankyo, of the traditional throwing list, Gokyo (no waza), of Kodokan Judo. It is also part of the current 67 Throws of Kodokan Judo. It is classified as a hip technique, Koshi-Waza. [1]
Hane goshi, the spring hip, gets it’s name from the ‘coiled spring’ action of the throwing leg of the tori, although the technique certainly works best when ‘sprung’ in with the supporting leg.
A very difficult throw to master, it is beautiful to observe when executed properly. Another technique that the tori does not turn fully in — instead, the ‘T’ shape of the opponents feet used to catch that springing leg correctly. [2]
