Kote uchi video
Info about "Kote uchi video"
Kote uchi is the forearm strike in Karate. Its primary target is usually the head with strikes to the neck, jaw and ears as the most common. It can also be a strike to the ribs or groin depending on the situation at hand. You can use the forearm strike as a recovery technique if you are spun off balance. It can be a bit of a blind move but it can save your skin. As a Karate technique there are two surfaces used:
Uchi kote (inside forearm) eg. During an attack from the front you strike an attackers ear with the little finger side of your forearm.
Soto kote (outside forearm) eg. You sweep away a front grab with you left hand and then swing and strike across the attackers face with the thumb side of your forearm.
