Info about "Matt Hughes video"
Matt Hughes was born on October 13, 1973 in Hillboro, Illinois. He is the two-time UFC welterweight champion and an icon in the sport of mixed martial arts. Until 2007, he fought for the Pat Militech team, but recently formed Team Hughes and started his own gym along with a couple other fighters.
Hughes was a two-time Division I All-American wrestler before beginning his mixed martial arts career in 1998. Hughes at one point ripped off 17 wins in a row, with his first title coming in 2001 with an impressive win over Carlos Newton. Newton had caught Hughes in a triangle choke and as Hughes was about to go to sleep he was able to lift Newton into the air and powerbomb him to the mat rendering Newton unconscious. This was followed by a string of five title defenses before a shocking upset to B.J. Penn. Hughes would later avenge his loss to Penn, only to lose his belt in his next fight to Georges St. Pierre.
