Pinan sono ni (kata) video
Info about "Pinan sono ni (kata) video"
Pinan sono ni is a basic Kyokushin Kata. The entire Pinan series was synthesized by Itosu, Anko and introduced as part of the Okinawan school systems physical education routine in the early 1900’s. Legend has it that he synthesized the five Kata out of the Kata known in Okinawa as Kusanku (Kanku Dai, Kong Sang Koon). Recent evidence and research has shown that this story is very unlikely, and that the Pinan Kata are indeed derived from a pair of longer Chinese Kata named Channan Sho and Channan Dai.
It is said that a Karateka will cover the entire spectrum of self-defense by mastering the Pinan series. While this is debatable, the fact remains that these Kata contain dozens of techniques and hundreds of applications. There are those Karate players who will insist that they are “basic” Kata, and so below their status as “advanced” players.
